Unilever infeed the Personal Care and Hygiene Dosing lines with bottles provided from external suppliers. Three (3) shifts a day Operators were required to pick, decant, and collapse cartons of various-sized bottles. Issues in finding and retaining staff to complete this repetitive task were leading to reduced output.
Applied Robotics developed a custom Gripper to allow the pick and collapsing of Cartons. The Robot Cycle was tested and developed to allow smooth unload without bottle displacement.
